Downtown Patio Fund
The Downtown Patio Fund offers funding between $1,000 and $3,000 to help local businesses create, upgrade, or expand patios.
Whether you’re planning a new curbside patio, looking to expand seating, or adding decorative features, the program helps offset the costs of materials, planning, furniture, and improvements.

Eligible Expenses
Reimbursements may be provided for:
- Patio application or permit fees
- Architectural drawings
- Patio construction or expansion
- Furniture and design elements
- Weather protection such as umbrellas, awnings, or heaters
- Accessibility features like ramps or non-slip surfaces
- Sustainable upgrades, including planters, solar lighting, and energy-efficient fixtures
- Seasonal storage solutions
- Repair and refurbishment of existing patio infrastructure

Selection Criteria
In addition to general criteria found on the main Grants and Funds page, applications will be reviewed based on:
- Patio capacity
- The visual impact and contribution to a more vibrant streetscape
- The project’s readiness, including secured or planned City or liquor permits
- The inclusion of features that improve safety, accessibility, or sustainability
