2026 Granville Street Pedestrian Zone
Come downtown and experience the energy of the World Cup!
From June 11 to July 19, 2026, Granville Street will transform into a vibrant, temporary pedestrian zone.
For five exciting weeks—during a period of unprecedented global attention—the Granville Entertainment District will become a people-first public space to welcome visitors and locals.
With more space to stroll, gather, dine, and explore, Granville will come alive, welcoming everyone to connect, discover, and celebrate the city together.

Road Closures
Starting June 8, Granville Street will be closed between Davie and Georgia streets for the set up and installation of the pedestrian zone.
Granville Street between W Georgia and Davie streets will be closed to vehicle traffic. Cross streets (Robson, Smithe, Nelson, and Helmcken) and laneways within the pedestrian zone will remain open.
Transit Impacts
Buses will be re-routed to Howe and Seymour streets from Drake Street to W Hastings Street from June 8 to July 26, 2026.
Dedicated bus lanes will be installed along Howe and Seymour streets to improve transit times in the area.
Loading and Delivery Zones
Temporary loading, taxi, and rideshare zones will be introduced on side streets adjacent to the pedestrian zone to support businesses and enhance access to the area from June 11 to July 20, 2026.
