2026 Granville Street Pedestrian Zone
The Granville Street Pedestrian Zone is now extended until July 19, 2026, giving everyone even more time to experience the energy of downtown Vancouver.
Throughout the summer, the Granville Entertainment District will be a vibrant, people-first public space where locals and visitors can stroll, gather, dine, shop, and explore. With expanded patios, public art, live entertainment, and plenty of room to connect, discover, and celebrate, there’s no better time to experience Granville.
What to expect
Throughout the Pedestrian Zone, specially themed blocks will come alive with interactive experiences, including selfie stations, water misters, soccer-themed games, giant light installations, and other exciting activations. Visitors can enjoy 28 expanded patios for dining and gathering, additional public seating, diverse market vendors, and local food and beverage offerings. Granville businesses will also host a dynamic lineup of activations, watch parties, and special events throughout the tournament, creating a vibrant atmosphere from day to night.

Markets
Stop by the pop-up market hosted by Where’s The Pop Up on 1000 + 1100 Blocks Granville on June 14, 27, and 28, and July 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, and 19.

Granville Pedestrian Zone Survey
What has your experience of the Pedestrian Zone been like so far? The City of Vancouver is inviting you to share your feedback to help shape the long-term vision for Granville Street, as well as potential future pedestrian zones across the city.
Road Closures
Starting June 8, Granville Street will be closed between Davie and Georgia streets for the set up and installation of the pedestrian zone.
Granville Street between W Georgia and Davie streets will be closed to vehicle traffic. Cross streets (Robson, Smithe, Nelson, and Helmcken) and laneways within the pedestrian zone will remain open.
Transit Impacts
Buses will be re-routed to Howe and Seymour streets from Drake Street to W Hastings Street from June 8 to July 26, 2026. Dedicated bus lanes will be installed along Howe and Seymour streets to improve transit times in the area.
Loading and Delivery Zones
Temporary loading, taxi, and rideshare zones will be introduced on side streets adjacent to the pedestrian zone to support businesses and enhance access to the area from June 11 to July 20, 2026.
