The DVBIA is a key player in encouraging festivals and events of all types and sizes to come and activate the downtown.
We understand and recognize both the economic and social impact that festivals and events have on our downtown businesses and community and are determined to bring in unique and high-quality events.
We traditionally sponsor about 30 different festivals and events each year. These events are for the most part free and take place in our public spaces
We also recognize the importance of sustainability in all of the work that we do and have included new sustainability components in our festival guidelines, encouraging our festival partners to incorporate sustainable practices.
We encourage applications from groups who deliver their events in publicly-accessible places and have elements of free programming. Events that focus on fundraising, charitable causes, political rallies or conventions are not in our included in our scope.
