Downtown Van is shocked by the incident that took place at Robson and Hamilton on Wednesday, December 4th. Our thoughts go out to the victims, and everyone affected by this act of violence.
We commend the Vancouver Police Department and Vancouver Fire Rescue Services for their quick response in securing the scene and assisting victims.
While there are many details still emerging, this incident is one more example of the serious challenge our community is facing when it comes to public safety.
We urgently need to see action from all levels of government. A comprehensive, holistic approach must be implemented to ensure the safety of our streets. The status quo isn’t working, and our businesses, employees, and citizens are paying the price.
