Safewalk Service
This is a free service provided by our friendly Downtown Van Safety Ambassadors. Whether you’re walking to your car, heading to a transit station, or making your way to an event, our team is here to walk with you—virtually or in-person.

Some of the Safety Ambassador Duties Include:
- Conducting meet and greets with local businesses
- Patrolling hot spot parkades and parks to assist with any quality of life concerns they observe
- Assist by providing a uniformed presence, or by calling the police if any illegal behaviour is observed
- All members of our team are licensed security guards, trained in first-aid, mental health first aid, Indigenous awareness, and conflict resolution.
Downtown Safety Ambassadors have been a positive presence in the downtown core since 2000. Easy to spot and always ready to help, they work closely with the City of Vancouver, Vancouver Police Department, and other organizations.
Crime prevention is a priority concern for downtown businesses. Safety Ambassadors play a key role in alleviating these concerns by identifying and reporting crime-related incidents, illegal behaviour, vandalism, graffiti and environmental and safety hazards.
