In February, the DVBIA hosted a virtual cooking class run by Chef Alex Chen – the Executive Chef – Signature Restaurants at Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar.
During an hour-long session, Chef Alex demonstrated to our members how to prepare five different canapés:
• Smoked salmon with creme fraiche, cucumber, ikura and chives
• Wagyu beef carpaccio with porcini mayo and parmesan
• Tortilla espanola and aioli
• Butternut squash, maple terrine and toasted
• Mini truffle grilled cheese
This menu was specially curated by Chef Alex for this event, and attendees were provided with a free canapés kit with the ingredients from Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar prior to the online cooking class.
It was obvious that Chef Alex loves his job as his positive energy and passion for each ingredient and its origin shone through.
At the end of the cooking class, we encouraged our members to share their creations with us via email and social media. We are thrilled by the amount of beautiful photos we received!
