This month we’re highlighting the newly-opened Tequila Cocina as our Granville Spotlight.

Granville Street’s new kid, Tequila Cocina, is already stealing the spotlight with its Instagrammable décor and authentic Mexican fare.

Tequila Cocina is a traditional Mexican restaurant located at 1224 Granville Street. The newly-opened eatery serves up dishes with fresh, high quality, and special ingredients. The menu is 100 per cent Mexican and offers dishes like mole con pollo, tequila nachos, and of course, a wide variety of tacos for only $3.99 each.
Owner Zuled Fernández moved from Mexico to Vancouver in 2006. Raised by a single mother, Zuled was taught the importance of working hard and achieving your dreams. Because of his hard work, Zuled now owns two of his own restaurants, the first being Tequila Cocina in Lower Lonsdale on the North Shore.

Zuled decided to expand to downtown Vancouver as he sees it as a great opportunity for his business to flourish and hopes to one day open restaurants all across the city. He has realized that Mexican food is very popular in the downtown catchment since opening on Granville Street. With other restaurants like Sombreros, Brunch, The Pawn Shop, and The Mexican nearby, the Granville strip is quickly becoming a hub for Mexican cuisine.
“People who know Mexico know good food, and recognize that our cuisine is different from all others they have tried.”

Tequila Cocina is open Monday to Friday from 12:00 PM – 10:00 PM and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Catch them on Taco Tuesdays for $1.99 tacos all day, and Saturdays and Sundays for Mexican breakfast!
