The Downtown Vancouver BIA has partnered with LOCO BC to launch the Support Local BC gift card platform for Vancouver businesses!
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Support Local BC has created a website that allows customers to purchase gift certificates for local, independent businesses in British Columbia. This helps us support our community, encourages social distancing, and allows businesses to maintain some cash flow while we tackle this incredibly challenging situation. Many businesses have made the difficult choice to close their doors for the health of their customers and the community. Each community has its own page on the site. The City of Vancouver page is now live.
How the gift certificate process works: the buyer gets an order confirmation email which has a unique order number that serves as their gift certificate. This includes the business name and the amount. The buyer will print it off and bring it to your business. On the back end, we will send you a listing of all the gift cards bought for your business including the unique order number and amounts. You can refer to this list as the gift certificates get presented/used. You do not need to issue your own gift certificates. It would be best to keep track of the balance for each gift certificate on the list. We’ll send you an e-transfer every month for your gift certificate sales during that period. Please note: There is no charge to your business – you will receive the full value of the gift certificates purchased.
