Little Free Libraries

Take a book, leave a book.

Did you know that downtown Vancouver is home to 7 Little Free Libraries? Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that provides neighbourhood book exchanges where everyone is invited to take a book and leave a book.

The organization is celebrating its 10th year, and the concept is pretty simple: bring a book that you no longer need, and take a new one. Inspire others by sharing your favourite stories when you deposit your books in one of these libraries and pick up something new to read at the same time. Better yet, it’s completely free and caters to all ages and interests.

The DVBIA has partnered with Simon Fraser University art students to create engaging and thought-provoking exteriors for re-purposed newspaper dispensers as our downtown Little Free Libraries. Embrace literature and the sharing economy all at once by searching for them in the public plaza’s and perches located at:

· Pacific Centre Mall
· Lot 19
· 1050 West Georgia
· Oceanic Plaza
· Guinness Tower
· 1188 Alberni Plaza

Come see what you might find, and clear out your old bookshelf at the same time!
