Hotel Belmont ushers in a new era for Granville Street. We checked in with the General Manager, Jeff Leung to get the details on the fully renovated hotel and bars.
The building has undergone extensive renovations. What are the most significant improvements to the building and the guest experience?
Designed by CHIL Interior Design, Hotel Belmont offers contemporary, beautifully decorated guest rooms with pillow-top mattresses and state of the art technology including in-room mobile device casting, blazing fast wifi and an integrated in-room tablet.
This property will be ideal for business and leisure travellers who appreciate a unique experience in downtown Vancouver. The hotel was designed with the tech savvy traveller in mind and we are implementing amenities that will enhance their visit before, during and after staying with us.
It was a comprehensive, full-scale renovation that pays tribute to the building’s history. We could not be more proud of the final product.
We are very excited about the new bars and restaurant! Tell us a bit about the names, menus, and design of the spaces.
The Living Room is a full-service lounge with a relaxed living room vibe, and is open from 11:30 am until late, seven days a week. The establishment will be serving lunch, dinner, and late-night eats, and of course, Happy Hour from 3 to 6 pm daily.
For partying till late in the night, The Basement is your go-to. A neon-lit funky basement bar, the retro spot features games, desserts, and late-night dance parties until 3 am. And yes, there are Happy Hour deals from 7 till 9 pm Thursday till Sunday! The Basement boasts 20 beers on tap, arcade games, a VIP booth with its own bowling lane, cocktails on tap, a dessert window featuring boozy popsicles, and some of Vancouver’s top DJs spinning from Thursday to Sunday nights. The Basement is also available for full buyouts and corporate parties.
The Belmont Hotel renovation is a great example of celebrating heritage while also bringing something fresh to downtown. Granville Street has had a few distinct eras over its history, what do you foresee the future of Granville Street looking like?
We foresee the future of Granville street as being the new revitalized hub for businesses and entertainment that hums both day and night. The area will carve its own unique identity as being the new hotspot that connects the dots between Yaletown and Gastown.
