Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival

The 13th annual Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival presented by Coromandel Properties, and Vancouver Board of Parks & Recreation launches April 4 to celebrate the arrival of spring and the city’s magnificent 43,000 blossoming cherry trees. Running until April 28, the Festival inspires more than 125,000 people of all ages and welcomes them to its 19 mainly free events.

The Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, long-time sponsor of the Cherry Blossom Festival, sponsors their downtown events which includes the Festival launch and concert Cherry Jam Downtown at Burrard SkyTrain Station on Thursday, April 4 from 12 – 1:30 pm, featuring artists such as Zimbamoto African fusion, Canada’s first taiko group Katari Taiko, and MNGWA Band performing world music and rhythms. The Festival is also harmonizing downtown with THE BIG SING Metro Vancouver by bringing 500 voices from across the region to the Vancouver Art Gallery South Plaza on Saturday, April 27 from 12 – 2 pm.

With activities for everyone, the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival looks forward to celebrating friendship and the arrival of spring’s blossoms with you. The Festival will also be launching some exciting food-related events this year, culminating with Sakura Night presented by McMillan Lawyers on May 5 at Stanley Park Pavilion. This is our gourmet celebration fundraiser featuring some of Vancouver’s top chefs.
