Blaze Pizza has finally opened its doors on Granville St. We catch up with Director of Training, Jason Huang on its history and mission.
First off, tell us a bit about the history of Blaze Pizza?
The genesis of Blaze Pizza began with Rick and Elise Wetzel having the idea that a completely customizable, quality, artisanal pizza that was made-to-order could be fast enough for lunch. After hiring acclaimed pizza chef Brad Kent, the first Blaze opened in Irvine, CA on August 6, 2012 with a second in Pasadena, CA shortly thereafter.
What sets Blaze Pizza apart from the competition?
Our dough, including the gluten-free dough, is made fresh, in-house every day. It is fermented for 24-hours to achieve our signature light-as-air thin crust.
What attracted you to the Granville Street location?
Blaze Pizza strives to be part of the local community. The people, the culture, the local businesses are all the right fit for us and we are looking forward to helping grow the community and growing alongside the community.
Are there any upcoming promotions or events?
We have in-store fundraising events to help support local organizations and charitable causes where 20% of food sales raised by the event are given directly back to the organization or cause. More details on our social channels.
