The last of the summer movie nights on The Square

Taking a look back at the last 9 weeks, we’re pretty proud to say that the Summer Movie Nights on the Square has been a great success. We sang and danced our way into the night with Moulin Rouge, cried with laughter throughout Mrs. Doubtfire and celebrated our local heroes with the Avengers.

We kicked things off with the classic, Ghostbusters, which was chosen by you in our DailyHive Movie Nights poll. The opening night drew a small excited crowd, which was a perfect start to our event.

We welcomed the start of Pride week with a special appearance by Ms. Jaylene Tyme who introduced our Pride movie, Moulin Rouge and judged our walk-off contest. The winner was the fabulous Adam, who won himself a $100 Cadillac Fairview gift card.

We ended the season with two blockbuster movies, LaLa Land and Avengers: Infinity War, both bringing large crowds and a visit from the Vancouver Police Department and the Fire Department on the last evening as we thanked our unsung heroes.

And of course, the event would not have been possible without the help and support of our amazing sponsors, Cadillac Fairview, TransLink, Rosewood Hotel Georgia and Easy Park. Thanks also to our media partner, Daily Hive! It’s now time to start planning Summer Movie Nights on the Square 2019!
